Rebuild Homes. Keep Families in Altadena. Donate now.

What Your Donation Helps Build

At this stage, all donations go toward our first $300,000 rebuilding grant for a long-time Altadena family. While funds are pooled and distributed through escrow, here’s what common donation amounts realistically support in a home rebuild:

$25
Covers paint, sealants, and small but essential supplies that keep a rebuild moving forward.

$50
Helps pay for framing lumber, drywall, or plywood used in the structural shell of a home.

$100
Covers about one hour of licensed electrical work or contributes to required wiring and inspections.

$500
Helps cover skilled labor or materials needed for a single phase of rebuilding, such as rough electrical, plumbing prep, or framing.

$1,000
Supports a meaningful portion of a rebuild milestone, like electrical rough-in, plumbing installation, or inspection fees required to move forward.

$2,500
Helps fund a major rebuild phase, such as framing, roofing prep, or interior systems that make a house safe and livable.

$5,000
Covers a significant portion of construction costs for a family rebuilding their home, including labor, materials, and required inspections.

$10,000
Plays a meaningful role in closing the insurance gap for a long-time Altadena family working to rebuild and remain on their land.

Where Your Donation Goes

100% of donations are used for supporting rebuilding through grants.

  • 84% of your donation goes directly to grants.

  • 16% goes to administrative costs to make the grants happen, like our website and fundraising. (Nonprofits typically spend 20-30% of their budget on admin.)

  • Startup costs were personally covered.

Every dollar raised is applied toward our current grant goal.

No single donation rebuilds a home on its own, but together, these dollars become roofs, walls, wiring, and doors. Brick by brick, they turn a burned lot back into a place someone can live.
